Other than design issues in combining the CAT with the Exhaust Manifold and not covering it in the warranty and second and third row seats that don't fold completely flat like the Navigator and the fact that Nisson pulled the recall on the timing chain, this is a really solid ride. Be prepared to spend $1600 for a headlight assembly and big bucks for most other parts or repairs done at the dealer. 6 lug rims and 22" rubber came with mine and it is limiting in what type of replacement tire can be used but it was part of a package. Basically this is the same as the Armada Platinum because it is built on the frame of a 3/4 Titan. This car is definitely designed more for long distance highway rides in absolute comfort than it is for hauling stuff inside. The 8500 towing capacity is exceptional and the tech package is really easy to use with some practice. Carpets in the rear cargo area could be more plush and the buyer should expect that in a car that costs upwards of 76K with options. Mine is used and purchased with 109K miles on it but so far I get 20 mpg on the highway at 70+ mph and 15 mpg average in city driving. Oil passages are narrow so using 0-20 or 5-30 full synthetic can help run cooler so mpg can be better. I got a deal on the 2011 but the mechanical issues with the CAT and timing chain were corrected beginning in the 2014 model year and if I had the funds I would have got that year. All of my CAT and timing chain issues have been corrected by the dealer or previous owner so I should have many years of trouble free driving.

I bought a 2019 Infiniti QX80. Test driving it, I was star struck with all the bells, whistles, and gadgets. I was over the moon for the first couple months, loving all the upgrades i got over my previous vehicle, a Toyota Tundra. Given that it is also Japanese product, like the Tundra, I assumed it was an equally reliable vehicle. Big mistake. After a couple months, i was 3 hours from home on a 12-deg day. I jump and... nothing. I assumed the cold weather killed my battery. I call AAA, had them put a new battery in, and home i went. 6 months later, i'm at camp, jump in and... nothing. I call Infiniti and they say there's a recall that should take care of the problem, but I'll need a new battery too. My Infinity dealer is almost 2 hours away, so I'm annoyed, but okay, it's all fixed up. Nope. 5 months later, i come out of Big Box store... and... nothing. So i finally research it... i google "Infiniti QX80 Battery Drain." and that's when my world changed. A known problem by Nissan/Infiniti for years. Worse yet, it's literally how they designed the vehicle to improve gas mileage, and they've done nothing about it. I drove the 2 hours to my Infiniti dealer, explained all i knew (they knew about it too) and told them to change the battery while i shop for a new Toyota next door. 2 hours later, i pick it up, drive it across the street and drive home in my new 2020 Sequoia. It also had a cruise control/transmission issue and I couldn't use the cruise control the whole time i owned it. Infiniti said that that too was how it was designed. Ugh. Never again.
